Luscious fabrics and designs make the Free Hand Mei Tai Baby Carriers look fabulous. However, what will capture your heart is the ease of use and how small these fold to store in your diaper bag.
A mei tai is a modified version of the baby carriers that have been used in Asia for centuries. What those ancient cultures knew is what moms and dads today know too - raising a baby takes more than two hands! You need a Free Hand too!
A mei tai can be used from about 8 pounds until 35 pounds for most babies. Always exercise caution with any baby carrier and be sure that baby is securely attached before letting go. For babies under 4 months, be sure that your babies face is visible at all times and that baby's head does not slump forward and compromise airway (be especially careful of this in car seats, swings and other seats where you are not able to watch baby!)
Simple to use, a mei tai simply ties on. There are no buckles or complicated designs, just a simple rectangle and two sets of ties. Tie it around your waist, hold your baby close, pull the carrier up and over baby, then tie the two shoulder straps in place. Simple, easy, and oh! How good it feels to have baby close and content while your hands are free.
