Answer: A detailed instruction guide (in .pdf format) with tips on making the most of your new diapers is provided FREE with every Angel Bunz cloth diaper purchase.
Basic Washing Instructions
DIAPER WASHING:
Place the dirty cloth diapers in the washer and run a COLD rinse or pre-wash cycle (cold water prevents stains from setting)
Wash on regular HOT/COLD cycle setting with only 1/2 to 1/4 of the amount of recommended detergent (see our guide enclosed with your purchase regarding recommended detergents - no enzymes, no bleach, no fabric softener!). Be sure to use enough water.
Put in dryer regular setting for cottons / low for synthetics or line dry (save more $).
(Sunlight is a natural whitener and disinfectant)
WHAT TO DO WITH DIAPERS UNTIL WASH DAY -- Dry Pail Method (no soaking) - Angel Bunz Preferred Method:
The ADVANTAGES of this method are a lighter pail, less smell and no icky bucket of waste water around -- which we feel is much safer with curious children about.
We find an open wet bag smells less than a closed diaper pail, especially if you wash about every 2 days. Drop some tea tree oil on the fabric swatch inside or on a cloth wipe if there is any smell at all. Alternative, line dry your pail with a washable wet bag for easy transport to the washing machine.
Dispose of flushable liner or shake off excess poop into toilet. Poop from breastfed newborn babies generally doesn't create stains. You can just put the soiled diapers in the machine or pre-treat with a spray bottle filled with Purex and water before washing. For older babies, we recommend the use of a minishower when necessary and squeeze out any excess water.
